On this Father’s Day we thank God for being a loving Father to all of us, and for blessing so many of us with the gift of our own children.  And we thank God for instilling in us an unconditional and selfless love for our children – a love that gives us a glimpse of the infinite love that God has for each one of us.

Here’s a nice prayer for this day:

Lord God, author of all wisdom,
Teach us how to do our work
as fathers/mothers according to your will.
Enlighten our minds so that we may understand
what to tell our children
when it is necessary to give them direction or advice.
Give us good judgement to understand
true spiritual values and
to guide our families in your ways.
Be our guide at all times
that we may be a true father/mother and husband/wife,
sensitive always to the divine wisdom
that only you can impart.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
