Today we celebrate the Epiphany of our Lord – the manifestation of Jesus as Savior of the World.
And today we reflect on a most essential and profound truth – that God’s salvation is extended to everyone.
Male, and female – God saves.
Black, brown, and white – God saves.
Jew, Christian, and Muslim – God saves.
Sinners, and righteous – God saves.
Able-bodied, and disabled – God saves.
Poor, and rich – God saves.
Conservative, and liberal – God saves.
Educated, and ignorant – God saves.
Gay, and straight – God saves.
God’s love and salvation is extended to all. No one is excluded. No one is outside the reach of God’s saving power.
We are all saved. And this makes us all interconnected – one family, one body, one people of God.
This is our Epiphany. This is our celebration today, and every day.
May we never take God’s unfathomable love for us (merely) for granted.
